Projection Screens
>>Projection Screens
Projection screens come in many aspect
ratios, sizes and .styles.
Aspect Ratio is the ratio
of the width of the screen to the height of the screen,
ie in 4:3 format there are 4 units wide for every 3
units in height. The most popular formats are:
•Square Format
- This format is ideal if you are using an Overhead Projector or an older Data/ Video Projector
•4:3 Format
- Is the most popular format for business/training screens
and some home theatre where you watch a lot of older
movies.
•16:9 Format
- Is popular for Home Theatre use and now for use with
Widescreen Projectors.
When selecting your projection screen’s size, you need to consider the aspect ratio of your projector, the wall height (for installed screens) and the distance from the screen to your audience. The people sitting farthest away from the projection screen determine the minimum screen width. A screen should be at least as wide as 1/6 of the distance between the screen and the viewer farthest from the screen.
